Haven't been playing my best golf, had a few months off and worked hard the last week. I flew up and saw my coach, Grant Field, so massive thank you to him. Flew up there, did the hard yards, and we had a day of grinding to try and get me back on track. And even though I wasn't, I didn't play my best golf this week, I putted great early on in the tournament. And yeah, all my family. I obviously lost my dad two years ago, so this was for him." STORY: Australian Wade Ormsby defeated Scott Vincent from Zimbabwe on the first hole of a sudden-death play-off on Sunday (October 5) to win the Jakarta International Championship. Ormsby and Vincent shot one-under-par 69s to finished tied on 12-under, thanks to a nervy eight-foot (2.5 metre) par putt from Ormsby on 18. The five players tied for third place, missing out on the play-off by one stroke were Vincent’s brother Kieran, Doyeob Mun from South Korea plus Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert, Poom Saksansin and Sadom Kaewkanjana. Ormsby won the play-off and his fifth Asian Tour title thanks to a regulation par as Vincent's approach to the green found the water. Disappointment for Vincent but that was eased by the fact he is now top of the International Series Rankings and Asian Tour Order of Merit, while Ormsby moved into fifth. POWERBOAT PILOT ENTERING HIS BOAT 19. MAN ASSISTING TO STEER A BOAT / BOAT RACING OFF STORY:     The E1 World Championship, the world's first all-electric powerboat racing series, made its African debut in Lagos on Saturday (October 4), marking a milestone in its global expansion.     The penultimate round of Season Two brings the series to its fourth continent. Lagos was chosen for its "energy, drive for change, and alignment with E1's values of sustainability, tourism and technology," CEO Rodi Basso told Reuters.     E1 plans to expand to 12 teams from nine and increase the number of races to 15 from seven. The championship is seeking 20 million euros ($23.48 million) of fresh capital and is targeting a valuation of 500 million euros by 2030. Talks with investors, including several high-net-worth individuals, are ongoing, Basso said.      On the water, Team Rafa reclaimed the championship lead from Team Brady by a single point after finishing second in Saturday's qualifying race.          Team Brady is owned by National Football League legend Tom Brady and Team Rafa is associated with tennis star Rafael Nadal. Brady's team was hampered by technical issues.      "Lagos will be the road to Miami," Basso said, referring to the season finale.     Spectators welcomed the event. "It's been a wonderful experience,” said Tade Adekunle, who works in marketing. "I've never seen this kind of water race before. The crowd turnout was massive."     Sandra Chioma, a programme manager, praised the event's impact on tourism. "It's amazing to see Lagosians enjoy this sport. Lagos State is doing a fantastic job. I'll definitely attend again."     E1's RaceBird boats use zero-emission electric propulsion and foil technology to reduce environmental impact. The series also supports coastal conservation and marine research, said Basso.      Celebrity owners including basketball great LeBron James and Ivorian former soccer player Didier Drogba are helping drive global visibility. "Their reach is compelling," Basso said. "It's an insurance for growth."     The event marks a significant expansion for the championship, which is bringing sustainable motorsport to new audiences across the globe. VARIOUS OF DODGERS CELEBRATING 5-3 VICTORY STORY: Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to lift the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the host Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Saturday (October 4). Shohei Ohtani uncharacteristically allowed three runs on the mound and struck out four times, but Los Angeles rallied against Cristopher Sanchez and the Philadelphia bullpen. Enrique Hernandez had a key two-run double for the Dodgers. Sanchez gave up two runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings before David Robertson (0-1) and Matt Strahm combined to surrender the lead. J.T. Realmuto knocked in two runs for the Phillies, who will aim to even the series when the teams reconvene for Game 2 on Monday. Sanchez struck out Ohtani on three pitches to open the game as part of a 1-2-3 first inning. He allowed a pair of baserunners in the second, but retired Andy Pages on a strikeout to end the threat. That set the stage for Philadelphia to score three times in the bottom of the second, highlighted by Realmuto's two-run triple. Two batters later, Harrison Bader lofted a sacrifice fly to deep left to make it 3-0. In the fifth, Alex Call led off with an infield hit against Sanchez, who then retired the next three hitters — including a pair of strikeouts — to keep the visitors scoreless. However, Los Angeles finally got to Sanchez in the sixth. Freddie Freeman drew a two-out walk and Tommy Edman singled to set the stage for Enrique Hernandez's two-run double that made it 3-2 and ended the night for Sanchez. Robertson opened the seventh by allowing a single and a hit batter. Strahm then came on and retired Ohtani and Mookie Betts before Hernandez lofted a 1-0 pitch over the wall in right-center. Ohtani (1-0) allowed three runs and three hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out nine in his first career postseason start. Tyler Glasnow and Alex Vesia combined to get the Dodgers through the seventh and eighth innings. Vesia came on with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and got pinch hitter Edmundo Sosa on a fly ball to center. Roki Sasaki worked around a one-out double in the ninth to earn the save.
