(SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH MIDFIELDER, KONRAD LAIMER, SAYING:     "I don't think there's much to complain about when you've won eight out of eight games. I think everyone would have signed up for that back then, and I would have signed up for it too. Yes, ultimately, it's fun to play football with this team, the way we do it. And of course, we want to continue in the same vein as we are now." 3. WHITE FLASH 4. (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH MIDFIELDER, KONRAD LAIMER, SAYING:     "We prepared thoroughly for our opponent – we looked at every single phase, what to expect, how they play football, what their plan is. And they are a good team that plays good football and has good principles. And if we don't play at our maximum level, I would say, and if they get a lot of time and space, they can hurt you in every phase. So, when we say “we're focusing on ourselves”, we mean that we want to give 100 per cent on the pitch." 5. WHITE FLASH  6. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BAYERN MUNICH HEAD COACH, VINCENT KOMPANY, SAYING:     "We are used to playing against teams who have, you know, some really good ideas to create something, but we have our own ideas. And that's why… But full respect for the opposition because I think that If the outside can underestimate (them), I think our job is (that) we cannot." 7. WHITE FLASH 8. (SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH HEAD COACH, VINCENT KOMPANY, SAYING:     "It's a bit like the feeling you sometimes get at the Club World Cup, where you play against opponents you don't meet very often, where you have to study everything from scratch and have very little information beforehand. And now we've done all that. And they are similar kind of matches, which are also played to the limit emotionally – we saw in the Club World Cup how big a role emotions play in these games, and we mustn't forget that these emotions will also be a very important factor tomorrow." 9. WHITE FLASH 10. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BAYERN MUNICH HEAD COACH, VINCENT KOMPANY, SAYING:     "I understand that in the last couple of years it's (Pafos) been extremely successful with, obviously, the journey to the Conference League and – I think almost in the Last 16, right? – against the Swedish team Djurgaarden, so it's a team as well with… And then this year, I mentioned, you know, you played against Maccabi (Tel Aviv), you played against Red Star (Belgrade), you played against Olympiacos – they are difficult opponents to beat, to get to this stage. And Dynamo Kyiv as well, so." 11. WHITE FLASH  12. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BAYERN MUNICH HEAD COACH, VINCENT KOMPANY, SAYING:     "And then about the coach, of course he was – I think – over 700 games the assistant of Unai Emery. So, it's pretty clear how resilient they are in how they defend and the detail and discipline and organisation they have in everything they do defensively as well, but also the structure when they attack – very good mix between playing short to then go long and be direct and be aggressive on the second balls and find the balls into space or for the wingers to create an opportunity from these moments, so." 13. WHITE FLASH 14. KOMPANY LEAVING PRESS CONFERENCE  STORY: Bayern Munich will not underestimate Cypriot hosts Pafos FC in Tuesday's Champions League clash (September 30), manager Vincent Kompany said, adding he expects the debutants to raise their game for the occasion.      Reigning Cypriot champions Pafos advanced through the Champions League qualifying playoffs and have won four of their five league games this season. Bundesliga champions Bayern have eight straight wins in all competitions so far.      Pafos, founded 11 years ago, are the third Cypriot club to feature in the competition after Apoel and Anorthosis Famagusta, and the first since Apoel in the 2017-18 season.     "We are used to playing against teams who have, you know, some really good ideas to create something, but we have our own ideas," Kompany told reporters on Monday (September 29). "Full respect for the opposition because I think that If the outside can underestimate (them), I think our job is (that) we cannot," he added.      Pafos were held to a goalless draw at Greek side Olympiocos in their debut game. The last German side Pafos faced was Heidenheim, who beat them 1-0 at home in last season's Conference League.      "It's pretty clear how resilient they are in how they defend and the detail and discipline and organisation they have in everything they do defensively as well, but also the structure when they attack," Kompany said, noting that the team's coach worked under Unai Emery for over 700 games.      Pafos coach Juan Carcedo spent 13 years as Emery's assistant across six clubs from Almeria in 2006 to Arsenal in 2019. Former Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris St Germain defender David Luiz is also set to feature in Carcedo's squad on Tuesday.  (Production: Daria Shamonova)
