VIDEO SHOWS: HIGHLIGHTS OF ATP SHANGHAI MASTERS MATCHES  SHOWS: SHANGHAI, CHINA (OCTOBER 4, 2025) (ATP MEDIA / IMG – See restrictions before use) TO FOLLOW STORY: Shanghai Masters defending champion Jannik Sinner put in a strong show to beat Daniel Altmaier 6-3 6-3 on Saturday (October 4) and get his title defence off to a flying start. Sinner, looking to become the first player to win back-to-back titles at the ATP Masters 1000 event since Novak Djokovic in 2013, overpowered his German opponent in just one hour and 38 minutes. The win also helped Sinner earn a measure of revenge, having lost to Altmaier when they last crossed paths at the French Open in 2023. Russian Daniil Medvedev also had little trouble in his opening match as he steamrolled qualifier Dalibor Svrcina 6-1 6-1. Medvedev, who won the Shanghai Masters in 2019, next faces Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The Spaniard defeated Matteo Arnaldi 6-4 6-4. (Production: Aadi Nair)
