AUGER-ALIASSIME WINS MATCH WITH FOREHAND DOWN THE LINE/ PLAYERS SHAKE HANDS STORY: Jiri Lehecka and Felix Auger-Aliassime will meet in the European Open final after winning their semi-finals on Saturday (October 18). Lehecka won his match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets but needed a tiebreaker on both occasions. It's back-to-back European Open finals for Lehecka and his third final of 2025. Auger-Aliassime was up against home favourite Raphael Collignon and it was the Belgian who had the crowd on its feet after a pulsating rally in which both players were lobbed ended with the Canadian hitting the ball long. Collignon did save set point with the match at 5-4 in the first but eventually Auger-Aliassime powered his way ahead winning the tiebreaker convincingly. That seemed to sap Collignon's energy and after going a break down in the second set he couldn't find a way back against the U.S. Open semifinalist. Auger-Aliassime has now reached four finals in 2025 and will be looking to add to his wins in Montpellier and Adelaide. (Production: Simon Ormiston)
