The city of Udine has put extraordinary security measures in place ahead of Italy's upcoming World Cup soccer qualifier with Israel, as a pro-Palestinian march will go ahead on the day of the game, even after Israel and Hamas agreed on a peace deal. Italian police and army personnel also stationed themselves near the Friuli Hotel, where the Israeli team is staying.  ''They could have chosen not to play it. They could have decided to play it somewhere else, or not play it at all'', Udine resident, Paolo, said.  March organizer Committee for Palestine-Udine expects over 10,000 people to attend on Tuesday, hours before the game kicks off at the Stadio Friuli. TEAM 122 HIGH FIVE STORY: Three-time 4×4 champions Teralin Petereit and Nena Barlow (Team 129) collected an impressive 98 percent of available points on Day 1 of the Rebelle Rally on Sunday (October 12).  The first day of the event spanned 214km (133 miles) through Nevada, where teams skirted the south end of a large dry lake bed, then climbed the Weepah Hills west of Tonopah.  The Rebelle Rally is an endurance competition designed to test precision driving and navigation. The format is innovative and unique with competitors using maps, compass, road books and strategy to complete the event. WINNERS BEING CROWNED  STORY:   The world's top conker players battled it out on Sunday (October 14) for the title of King and Queen of the World Conker Championships in the English village of Southwick.  More than 250 competitors from across the UK gathered for the competition, which attracted attention last year after a rogue “metal conker” scandal briefly rocked the event.   This year saw the tournament introduce airport security style checks with metal detectors to prevent any metal conkers from entering the competition.  Matt Cross a civil servant from Kettering was crowned this year’s men’s champion. Speaking after his win, Cross said his technique was to “give it everything”. “You’ve got to give it some welly, the bruises on the hand have really shown that," he added.    The women’s winner was Margaret Blake from Corby, wo said she couldn’t believe she had won. “Never thought I would get this far. It’s like crazy,” she said. This year’s tournament, celebrated its 60th anniversary since the first official contest in 1965. (Production: Natasha Montague)
