Brent crude futures up 1% after Trump says India promised to stop buying Russian oil

TOKYO (Reuters) -Brent crude futures rose by 1.1% to $62.61 per barrel at 0012 GMT after U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged to stop buying oil from Russia. Trump said he would try to get China to do the same as Washington intensifies efforts to cut off Moscow's energy revenues. India and China are the two top buyers of Russian seaborne crude exports.
