BEIJING (Reuters) -China's commerce minister, Wang Wentao, said "intensive U.S. restrictive measures" rolled out after talks in Madrid in September seriously harmed China's interests and undermined the atmosphere for bilateral trade consultations. In a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Wang blamed the U.S. measures as the main reason for "recent fluctuations in China–U.S. economic and trade relations," his ministry said in a statement. "It is hoped the U.S. will work with China … to find ways to address issues through dialogue and consultation on an equal footing, and to provide more stable expectations and conditions for enterprises from both countries to cooperate," Wang was quoted as telling Cook.
