Miley Cyrus's Malibu home is almost rebuilt, says "it's going to be all ready"

Washington DC [US], September 29 (ANI): Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has revealed that her Malibu home, destroyed in the 2018 wildfire, is now almost fully rebuilt, according to People.

The “Flowers” hitmaker, 32, shared that the long-awaited rebuild is nearing completion. “I lost my house in the Woolsey Fire and have been rebuilding now for the last five years. It looks like it’s going to be all ready for me in the next couple of weeks,” Cyrus said.

The Grammy winner was in South Africa filming Black Mirror when the flames engulfed the home she once shared with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The pair married the following month but later separated in 2019.

Recalling the significance of the house, Cyrus said it held special memories, including the recording of her first post-Hannah Montana album.

“That house had so much magic to it,” Cyrus said in an August 2023 TikTok, explaining that she recorded her first non-Hannah Montana album in the home. “It ended up really changing my life,” as quoted by People.

“The Meet Miley Cyrus record was really where I started writing my own songs as a solo artist, and so I was working with a producer in Malibu that lived in a house in Ramirez Canyon, which I would’ve never known 15 years later I would be living in that house, which would eventually burn down,” the singer-songwriter added, reported People.

Despite the loss, the “Party in the U.S.A.” star has found meaning in rebuilding. At a screening of her visual album Something Beautiful earlier this year, she described the fire as “the biggest blessing” of her life.

“When my house burned down, that was the biggest blessing I’ve ever had in my life, actually,” Cyrus explained during a screening of her visual album Something Beautiful in May.

“Losing everything and being able to rebuild, and to be able to be purposeful and choose every piece that I’m gonna collect or also just about the people in my life,” she continued. “And I guess for me, when my house burned down, a lot of my relationships also burned down, and that again just led me to such magic and to have so much gratitude.”

The singer also noted that her voice changed after the fire. Speaking to Joe Rogan in 2020, she revealed, “I could sing better after the fire. It was almost like it unleashed something,” as reported by People.

With her new Malibu home nearly ready, Cyrus says she’s approaching this fresh chapter with renewed purpose and appreciation. (ANI)

Bad Bunny to perform at Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show

by Inkhabar webdesk
written by Inkhabar webdesk

Washington DC [US], September 29 (ANI): Bad Bunny is slated to perform during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, taking place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, reported Variety.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” said Bad Bunny in a statement.

“It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” added Bad Bunny as quoted by Variety.

Just moments before the announcement, Bad Bunny took to X to say that he had one show planned for the United States.

I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States,” wrote Bad Bunny.

He was referring to his upcoming Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour, which kicks off on December 5 in Costa Rica and heads to Mexico, Spain and England before wrapping in Italy on July 17-1, reported Variety.

He previously stated that he did not book gigs in the United States due to fear of ICE raids. He has shows scheduled before and after the Super Bowl, with dates set for Chile on Feb. 5-7 and Argentina on Feb. 15-17, though it’s unclear if those performances will still take place.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” said Roc Nation founder Jay-Z in a statement. His company has partnered with the NFL since 2019 to book the Super Bowl Halftime Show. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

This marks the first time that the Puerto Rican musician has graced the Super Bowl stage. He’s coming off a red-hot year that began with the release of his seventh album, “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos”, in January, serving as an homage to his native land. He then staged a 30-date residency at San Juan’s Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum that started in July and recently wrapped on September 20.

Earlier this month, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said on “Today” that Swift was “welcome at any time” to perform during the Halftime Show. “We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time,” as quoted by Variety.

Last year, Kendrick Lamar performed, with appearances by SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Mustard, and Serena Williams. In the years prior, the NFL featured Usher, Rihanna, and in 2022, a slate of hip-hop and R&B royalty, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Lamar, with featured guests 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. (ANI)

China selects 'Dead to Rights' as Oscar submission for Best International Feature Film

by Inkhabar webdesk
written by Inkhabar webdesk

Beijing [China], September 29 (ANI): China has chosen Shen Ao’s ‘Dead to Rights’ as its submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards, reported Variety.

Written by Shen Ao, Zhang Ke, and Xu Luyang, and set against the backdrop of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, drawing from documented historical events, ‘Dead to Rights’ follows A Chang (Liu Haoran of the ‘Detective Chinatown’ franchise), a postman who assumes the identity of a photo developer to survive the Japanese occupation.

Operating from within the walls of a Japanese-controlled studio, he covertly shelters Chinese soldiers and civilians in an act of quiet resistance.

The film is produced by Furuo Qing of ‘The Wandering Earth’ franchise fame. Niu Vision Media and Echelon Studios released the film in North America in August.

‘Dead to Rights’ opened in China on July 25 and has grossed more than RMB3 billion ($415 million). It led the local box office for 16 consecutive days over the summer.

China has yet to win the international feature Oscar. The country has scored two nominations in the category to date, with Zhang Yimou’s ‘Ju Dou’ (1991) and ‘Hero’ (2003).

Hong Kong, which submits separately, has earned three nominations: Zhang Yimou’s ‘Raise the Red Lantern’ (1992), Chen Kaige’s ‘Farewell My Concubine’ (1994) and Derek Tsang’s ‘Better Days’ (2021).

Last year, China submitted Fang Li’s documentary ‘The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru,’ which was disqualified by the Academy for not meeting language requirements.

The Oscar international feature shortlist will be announced on December 16 and the final five nominees will be announced on January 22.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s Oscar committee had chosen Leesa Gazi’s debut movie ‘Barir Naam Shahana’ (‘A House Named Shahana’) as its submission for the best international feature film category at the 98th Academy Awards, reported Variety.

Based on Gazi’s 2011 novella, the film is set in rural Bangladesh in the 1990s and follows Dipa, a young woman forced into a marriage with a widower in England.

After enduring abuse, she returns home as a divorcee and confronts the entrenched patriarchal attitudes of her community while pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.

The drama charts her gradual journey from vulnerability to self-determination, as reported by Variety. (ANI)

Baithe-baithe log kuch bhi …: Salman Khan throws a cryptic shade at recent allegations on 'Weekend Ka Vaar' episode

by Inkhabar webdesk
written by Inkhabar webdesk

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 28 (ANI): It seems that Salman Khan has subtly taken a dig at his ‘Dabangg’ director, Abhinav Kashyap, who has been making serious allegations against him lately.

In the latest episode of “Weekend Ka Vaar” on ‘Bigg Boss 19,’ the ‘Sultan’ actor appeared to make a jibe at the director.

The episode began on a light note with Salman celebrating contestant Tanya Mittal’s birthday. Feeling emotional, Tanya wished that Salman would become “like family” to her in Mumbai, so she wouldn’t feel unsafe living in the city.

Soon after, the host shifted the focus to the recent chatter outside the house. Without directly naming anyone, Salman spoke about how “people sitting idle” were making all kinds of claims about him. He went on to subtly hint at those who had once praised him but are now “talking nonsense” on podcasts.

While speaking to the housemates, Salman said, “Jo sab mere saath attach hue hain ya hue the, aajkal unki bhi baj rahi hai. Baithe-baithe log kuch bhi and-sand bol rahe hain jinse mera talluq raha hai, aur jinhone kabhi meri tareef ki hai. Ab, they don’t quite like me anymore. Aajkal log podcast mein aake utpatang baatein karte hain kyunki unke paas koi kaam nahi hai. My request to you all is, please koi kaam kar lo.” (“Those who are or were once associated with me are also being targeted these days. People I’ve had connections with — even those who once praised me — are now sitting around and saying all sorts of nonsense. These days, people go on podcasts and talk rubbish just because they don’t have any work. My request to all of you is, please, get some work.”)

‘Bigg Boss 19’ has been winning hearts outside the house, with housemates forming their own camps. The theme for this year is Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar. Popular names, including Gaurav Khanna, Kunika Sadanand, Ashnoor Kaur, Amaal Malik, among others, are in the race for the Bigg Boss trophy.

Hosted by Salman Khan, ‘Bigg Boss 19’ streams on JioHotstar at 9 p.m. before its TV telecast on Colors TV at 10:30 p.m. (ANI)

Durga Puja 2025: Kolkata's Suruchi Sangha pandal pays tribute to Bengal's freedom fighters

Miley Cyrus's Malibu home is almost rebuilt, says "it's going to be all ready"

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], September 28 (ANI): Durga Puja in Kolkata has always been more than just a religious festival. For the city, it is a season of art and culture woven into devotion. Each year, pandals across the city never fail to surprise visitors with thought-provoking themes, and this year too, one Puja has stood out for the way it connects faith with history.

In New Alipore, the well-known Suruchi Sangha, which is celebrating its 72nd year, has dedicated its theme to the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle. Titled ‘Ahuti’ (meaning sacrifice), the pandal pays tribute to Bengal’s freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country. The walls of the pandal feature the faces of these revolutionaries, carefully crafted in plaster of Paris, so that every visitor can walk through history while celebrating the goddess.

While speaking to ANI, Soumya Sarkar, a member of the Suruchi Sangha Durga Puja Committee, explained the thought behind this year’s theme and their efforts to make people of all ages to stop and reflect.

“We want every child, every elder, every youngster who visits to understand this history – a history that has given us such a rich culture and one that fills us with pride,” he said.

Sarkar added that the team wanted to remind people that Bengal’s role in the freedom struggle was as important as that of others. “For 200 years, we were under British rule. To uproot that, so many Bengalis were involved. This year, through our Puja, we are paying tribute to those freedom fighters.”

The theme ‘Ahuti’ especially focuses on the contributions of those freedom fighters associated with the ‘Anusilan Samity,’ which was founded in 1902 to train in warfare against the British, disguised as a centre for fitness and health.

Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, honours Goddess Durga and commemorates her victory over Mahishasur. According to Hindu belief, the goddess descends to her earthly abode during this time to bless her devotees. (ANI)
