(Reuters) -Defense contractor Science Applications International Corp said on Monday it had agreed to buy peer SilverEdge Government Solutions from private equity firm Godspeed Capital for $205 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. Reston, Virginia-based SAIC provides government technical and enterprise IT services. In June, the company was awarded a $928 million five-year contract by the Department of Defense to provide engineering services in support of the U.S. Air Force's TENCAP programme. Through its acquisition of cybersecurity, software and intelligence solutions provider SilverEdge Government Solutions, SAIC looks to expand its product portfolio with the integration of SilverEdge's products, including its flagship software-as-a-service product suite, SOAR. "SOAR delivers agile, low-risk and rapid prototyping products that align with our enterprise growth strategy to provide integrated digital solutions to our customers that tackle national priorities," said Toni Townes-Whitley, CEO of SAIC. For the deal, SAIC was supported by KPMG as its financial adviser and SilverEdge was advised by KippsDeSanto & Co. (Reporting by Aatreyee Dasgupta in Bengaluru; Editing by Alan Barona)
