Pune (Maharashtra) [India], September 27 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the nationwide rollout of the indigenous 4G mobile network, highlighting its role in strengthening communication and connectivity across India.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Pune, Fadnavis said, “This is a joyous day, as 92,633 towers of BSNL are being inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Out of these, more than 900 are in Maharashtra alone. You know that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji had once said, ‘If we want to develop India, communication will be very important.’ For development, the roads leading to villages also need to be strengthened, as they are the primary means by which growth and facilities reach rural areas. Now it is necessary to take connectivity to the villages. Only then will development and information reach there. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the 4G network will now reach every village.”

Emphasising India’s resilience, he added, “Whenever India has been challenged, India has always responded. Even today, those countries that are challenging us are being given a strong response.”

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the Prime Minister’s vision, describing the launch as a significant step towards self-reliance and development.

“What did not happen in 60 years of Congress rule has been achieved in the last 10 years. Many development works have been completed, and in the coming 10 years, even more will be accomplished that were not possible earlier. Step by step, we are moving forward to make India a developed nation by 2047. I assure you that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra will also be an active part of this journey,” Shinde said.

The launch of the indigenous 4G mobile network marks a key milestone in BSNL’s expansion plans, aiming to strengthen rural connectivity and bridge the digital divide across the country. (ANI)

Among these, a notable initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, dedicated to the holistic development of Scheduled Castes, is the Loan Assistance Scheme for Scheduled Caste Students for Commercial Pilot Training. Through this scheme, Vidhi Parmar from Ahmedabad district has successfully turned her childhood dream of becoming a pilot into reality.

From a young age, Vidhi Harshad Parmar dreamt of soaring high in the open skies, and today she has realised that dream by becoming a commercial pilot. This remarkable achievement is the result of her hard work, perseverance, and her family’s unwavering support, further strengthened by the vital assistance provided through the Commercial Pilot Licence/Training Loan Scheme for the Scheduled Caste

“Since childhood, I dreamt of becoming a pilot. It was then that I became aware of the Loan Assistance to Scheduled Castes Students for Commercial Pilot Training scheme, administered by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of Gujarat. After applying for this scheme in 2023-24, I was granted a loan of ₹25 lakhs to pursue Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training at a flight school in Miami, USA. With the help of this loan, I was able to fulfil my dream of becoming a commercial pilot. Currently, I am serving as a Ground Instructor and earning a monthly income of ₹40,000. With the support of this scheme, not only have I fulfilled my dream, but I am also able to extend financial support to my family. For this, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Gujarat,” she said

Under this scheme, a loan amount of up to ₹25 lakhs is provided at an annual interest rate of 4%. To be eligible for this scheme, a Scheduled Caste student must have passed Class 10/12 or an equivalent examination. The training institute in India or abroad, where the candidate seeks admission, determines the admission conditions, and the trainee must possess all the necessary certificates required for training. The trainee is also required to present the estimated cost of training as provided by the respective institution. In India, the amount covers tuition fees and other related expenses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently promoted the inclusion of women across various fields, including social, educational, political, sports, agricultural, and others. He has envisioned women’s empowerment as a cornerstone of the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision. Guided by this vision, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remains committed to fostering the holistic development and empowerment of women in Gujarat. (ANI)

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], September 27 (ANI): On the inauguration of the indigenous BSNL 4G network in the country, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday applauded the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that it was a step forward for India towards a ‘new’ and ‘self-reliant nation.’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) ‘Swadeshi’ 4G network from Jharsuguda in Odisha. The launch coincided with BSNL’s silver jubilee celebrations.

Rajathan Chief Minister was among the eight chief ministers and several Union Ministers who joined the innaguration via videoconfereninc.

Speaking at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre in Jaipur’s Sitapura, the Rajasthan Chief Minister said, “Today, we celebrate 25 years of BSNL. Thanks to the efforts of PM Modi, 92,633 4G towers are being inaugurated across India. I want to congratulate PM Modi for this achievement. Of these, 5,655 towers have been installed in Rajasthan. This isn’t just a number; it’s a step forward for India towards a new and self-reliant nation…”

“BSNL’s entire 4G network is indigenous, developed by institutions and companies within our country. Today, India joins the five countries that have developed completely indigenous 4G technology. Its technology is so advanced that 4G towers can now be upgraded to 5G via software…” Chief minster Sharma said

The projects have been launched under the Digital Bharat Nidhi scheme.

BSNL is entrusted with ambitious projects of the Government to provide coverage to uncovered villages in the country, including rural and underserved areas, such as 4G Saturation Scheme.

A day earlier, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the 4G stack would be deployed across nearly 98,000 sites nationwide, covering every part of the country.

“Our 4G towers and BTSs are already serving 22 million customers across India It’s fully software-driven, cloud-based, and future-ready. Most importantly, it will upgrade seamlessly to 5G,” he said.

He stressed that the government’s focus is not only on connectivity but also on developing India’s telecom manufacturing ecosystem.

Highlighting the progress, Scindia said that global firms are now partnering with Indian manufacturers.

“The world today is getting into serious manufacturing in India. Cisco has tie-ups with Flex, Ericsson, and VVDN in Jabil, and Dixon is expanding here. Slowly, India is emerging as a hub for telecom equipment manufacturing. We are not just a services bouquet, but also an equipment manufacturing bouquet,” he added.

The public sector telecom operator is rolling out 4G services pan-India using indigenously developed C-DoT core technology, integrated with TCS/Tejas networks, and engineered for future 5G upgrades under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.

Jharsuguda (Odisha) [India], September 27 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha’s Jharsuguda on Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Baijayant Jay Panda said that telecom projects worth Rs 37,000 crores would be launched and connect several villages.

Applauding the double-engine government, Panda said that the people’s wishes in the state were coming true.

“PM views Odisha specially. He has visited underdeveloped areas, like the northeast, more than all the previous PMs’ visits combined. In last 1 year, he has visited Odisha too several times. He has been here every 2 months…Several projects are being launched from here today. Rs 37,000 crores of telecom project will connect several villages that were still not connected. Foundation stone of 8 new IITs are being laid…What the people of Odisha wanted from the double-engine government is happening now…” Panda told ANI.

The PM, during his visit, will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore.

Additionally, he will also address a public gathering.

In the field of telecom connectivity, the Prime Minister will commission more than 97,500 4G mobile towers built at a cost of around Rs 37,000 crore with swadeshi technology. This includes more than 92,600 4G technology sites commissioned by BSNL.

In a post on X, the PM wrote, “Will be in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to inaugurate developmental works worth over Rs. 50,000 crore. In a historic feat, over 97,500 telecom towers across India would be commissioned. These have been built using local technologies and will boost connectivity in remote areas, border areas and those affected by Maoism.”

Additionally, other projects being launched or the foundation stones being laid pertain to rail connectivity, the expansion of IIT infrastructure, and skill development centres.

The works are in line with the PM’s vision of Viksit Bharat for the poor and downtrodden to get access to all-around development.
