Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 29 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, on late Sunday nigh,t congratulated Team India for their “valiant victory” in the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan and stated that Team India has not only “created history but also ignited the flame of national pride.

In a post shared on X, Sai said, “India’s Valiant Victory in Asia Cup-2025. In the final match, by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets, our team has not only created history on the cricket field, but also ignited the flame of national pride in every Indian heart.”

“This victory is a symbol of the hard work, spirit, and determination of our players. It is also a message that when India steps onto the field, not only the game, but the confidence of 1.4 billion Indians stands alongside,” he said.

Extending his wishes, Sai said, “Heartfelt congratulations to the heroes of Team India and best wishes to all fellow countrymen on this moment of pride. India’s victory is our identity. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha lauded Team India for lifting the Asia Cup 2025 after defeating Pakistan in the final at Dubai International Stadium.

In a post shared on X, Office of LG J&K said, “Well done, Team India! Congratulations for lifting the Asia Cup 2025. Your exemplary teamwork, determination, consistent performance, and the winning spirit have made the entire nation proud.”

Following Team India’s win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Team India. PM Modi took to Twitter and said, “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on late Sunday hailed India’s triumph in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai and emphasised that “Bharat is destined to win no matter which field”.

In a post shared on X, Shah said, “A phenomenal victory. The fierce energy of our boys blew up the rivals again. Bharat is destined to win no matter which field.”

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also congratulated Team India. In a post shared on X, Jaishankar said, “Congrats to Team India on winning the Asia Cup. New India delivers.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on late Sunday night congratulated Team India on their emphatic victory over Pakistan to clinch the Asia Cup final and stated that India’s “historic” victory during this Navratri of Maa Durga is a joyous occasion for the 144 crore people of India.

Speaking to the reporters, Delhi CM said, “From the bottom of my heart, my congratulations to the entire Indian cricket team for winning the Asia Cup. India’s historic victory during this Navratri of Maa Durga is a joyous occasion for the 144 crore people of India.”

Meanwhile, Tilak Varma’s clutch knock of 69* and his useful half-century partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube helped India to their second T20I Asia Cup title and overall ninth title including the ODI editions, with a successful, yet a tense run-chase of 147 runs against Pakistan in the final in Dubai on Sunday.

With this win, India has not only won the Asia Cup, but also ended the tournament undefeated against Pakistan, starting with a seven-wicket win in group stage, six-wicket win in the Super Four phase and capping it all off with a five-wicket win in the title clash. (ANI)

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 29 (ANI): Police have detained and sent to jail 15 people in connection with the recent violence in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and the rest of the rioters are being identified.

Superintendent of Police (SP) City Bareilly Manush Pareek said that the detainees are being sent to jail after evidence was recovered linking them to the clashes.

“Fifteen rioters are being detained and sent to jail today. Pieces of brick and stone, empty cartridges, and a pistol were recovered from them. The remaining rioters are also being identified through CCTV footage, drone surveillance, and manual intelligence. All of them will be arrested and sent to jail. Many of them live outside the Bareilly district and have also had criminal cases against them…”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday strongly criticised the miscreants involved in the recent violence in Bareilly, and warned them of police action.

Addressing a public meeting in Balrampur, CM Yogi cited the lathi-charge in Bareilly and said that the miscreants would be dealt with in a similar manner.

He said, “A few individuals should not be allowed to spoil the environment. These are the same people who brought an identity crisis to Uttar Pradesh along with the corrupt governments. There were no investments or developments in the State due to these people.”

“Now they are adopting new tactics. But they must remember that we are more prepared than they think. They will be beaten just as they were beaten in Bareilly,” the Chief Minister added.

Condemning the “I love Muhammad” posters, CM Yogi said that the “fools” are ruining the lives of the children.

“These fools don’t even know that symbols of faith are honoured, not loved. Faith isn’t something to be displayed at crossroads; it’s a matter of conscience. Some people are creating chaos in society by giving small children posters of ‘I Love Muhammad’. They don’t even realise that their own lives are already ruined, but they’re hell-bent on ruining the lives of these children as well,” he said.

He warned the miscreants against anarchy and said, “The government will never accept this kind of anarchy. Anyone who attempts to take the law into their own hands, be informed in advance that we will issue them a ticket to hell without asking. This anarchy is unacceptable.”

The Chief Minister’s remarks come after the protests outside Ala Hazrat Dargah and Ittehad-e-Millat Council chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan’s house in Bareilly, which turned into a clash with the State police.

Earlier, UP Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Range Ajay Kumar Sahni said that Maulana Tauqeer Raza, a cleric and the main conspirator of the violence, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. (ANI)

Madurai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 28 (ANI): Congress MP Karti Chidambaram on Sunday expressed his grief over the loss of lives in the Karur stampede incident and blamed the” lack of second-tier leaders and administrators in TVK” for the tragedy.

Addressing the media, Karti Chidambaram said, “It is deeply saddening and painful. Incidents of people losing their lives in crowd crushes continue to occur in India. Those who organised the event seem to have been negligent. It must be noted that the organisers lacked the administrative capacity to control the crowd. Whether the police were properly deployed for security will only be known after the inquiry. The lack of second-tier leaders and administrators in TVK is what led to this tragedy. I have no doubt about the public support they enjoy. My doubt is only about whether there is leadership.”

The death toll from the stampede at actor Vijay’s political rally for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Karur on Saturday evening has risen to 40.

Earlier, Union Minister L Murugan on Sunday expressed condolences to the families affected by the Karur stampede.

While speaking to the media here, the union minister said, “We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident in Karur. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin regarding the situation and assured him that the Centre is ready to provide all necessary assistance. He has also sought an explanation from the concerned officials.”

On Saturday, the massive crowd at Vijay’s rally reportedly turned chaotic, triggering panic. Several attendees fainted and were rushed to nearby hospitals. Sources had said that overcrowding at the venue led to the tragedy.

Retired High Court judge Aruna Jagadeesan, appointed by the Tamil Nadu government to lead a one-member Commission of Inquiry into the Karur stampede, landed at Trichy airport on Sunday evening.

From Trichy airport, she travelled to Karur by road. In a brief interaction with the media after reaching Karur, she said, “The commission has been set up to address shortcomings. Incidents like this should not occur in the future, and the necessary remedial measures will be taken.”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the Karur tragedy.

In an emotional message, Stalin said the grief and cries of the victims’ families have deeply affected him and remain in his heart.

In a post on X, MK Stalin wrote, “The tears shed by the families of those who lost their lives throughout the night, and the pain caused by their grief-filled cries, have not left my heart… Karur Tragedy”

The Chief Minister, MK Stalin, announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the victims who were killed in the Karur stampede. CM Stalin also announced aid of Rs 1 lakh each to those undergoing medical treatment in hospitals. (ANI)
