MUMBAI, Oct 6 (Reuters) – STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 0.3% to 81,412, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 advanced 0.3% to 24,958, led by banking, as strong quarterly business updates from lenders supported their shares. RUPEE: The Indian rupee was little changed versus the U.S. dollar at 88.75, holding near a lifetime low, with IPO inflows and expectations of central bank support likely providing a cushion against pressure from hedging mismatches. GOVERNMENT BONDS: The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.76 rupees, with the yield down 1 basis point at 6.6014%, after states announced that they will borrow a lower-than-expected amount in October-December.
