South Korea national security adviser: tough to strike FX swap deal with US, Newsis reports

SEOUL, Sept 30 (Reuters) – South Korea's National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac said it is difficult to be optimistic about striking a deal on a bilateral currency swap with the U.S., local news outlet Newsis reported. "While our government has proposed a currency swap, the U.S.'s track record suggests it won't be easy," Wi was quoted as saying. The won is hovering near a four-month low against the dollar, amid mounting political uncertainties surrounding trade talks with the Trump administration over the past week.
