VIDEO SHOWS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM GAME ONE OF NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES BETWEEN PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES AND LOS ANGELES DODGERS COMPLETE SCRIPT TO FOLLOW SHOWS: PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES (OCTOBER 4, 2025) (MLB – See restrictions before use) SHOTLIST TO FOLLOW STORY: Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to lift the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the host Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Saturday (October 4). Shohei Ohtani uncharacteristically allowed three runs on the mound and struck out four times, but Los Angeles rallied against Cristopher Sanchez and the Philadelphia bullpen. Enrique Hernandez had a key two-run double for the Dodgers. Sanchez gave up two runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings before David Robertson (0-1) and Matt Strahm combined to surrender the lead. J.T. Realmuto knocked in two runs for the Phillies, who will aim to even the series when the teams reconvene for Game 2 on Monday. Sanchez struck out Ohtani on three pitches to open the game as part of a 1-2-3 first inning. He allowed a pair of baserunners in the second, but retired Andy Pages on a strikeout to end the threat. That set the stage for Philadelphia to score three times in the bottom of the second, highlighted by Realmuto's two-run triple. Two batters later, Harrison Bader lofted a sacrifice fly to deep left to make it 3-0. In the fifth, Alex Call led off with an infield hit against Sanchez, who then retired the next three hitters — including a pair of strikeouts — to keep the visitors scoreless. However, Los Angeles finally got to Sanchez in the sixth. Freddie Freeman drew a two-out walk and Tommy Edman singled to set the stage for Enrique Hernandez's two-run double that made it 3-2 and ended the night for Sanchez. Robertson opened the seventh by allowing a single and a hit batter. Strahm then came on and retired Ohtani and Mookie Betts before Hernandez lofted a 1-0 pitch over the wall in right-center. Ohtani (1-0) allowed three runs and three hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out nine in his first career postseason start. Tyler Glasnow and Alex Vesia combined to get the Dodgers through the seventh and eighth innings. Vesia came on with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and got pinch hitter Edmundo Sosa on a fly ball to center. Roki Sasaki worked around a one-out double in the ninth to earn the save. REFEREE ANNOUNCING THERE IS NO PENALTY AND BLOWING WHISTLE TO END MATCH, MIAMI WINS 4-1 STORY: Jordi Alba and Tadeo Allende each had two goals to lead host Inter Miami to a 4-1 victory over the New England Revolution on Saturday (October 4) night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The victory snapped a two-match winless streak for Inter Miami (17-7-8, 59 points), which moved into third place in the Eastern Conference standings. With two matches to play, Miami trails FC Cincinnati by three points for second place. Cincinnati has one match left. Dor Turgeman scored the lone goal for New England (9-16-8, 35 points) as the Revolution came up short for the fifth time in their past six matches. Lionel Messi did not score for the second consecutive match, but he contributed by assisting on three of Inter Miami's goals. On the first goal contribution under a torrential downspout late in the first half, Messi delivered a precise through ball on the run to Allende, who fired the ball past New England goalkeeper Matt Turner in the 32nd minute. Just before halftime, Messi intercepted a clearing attempt by New England near its own goal. He then dropped it back for Alba, who proceeded to bury it in the back of the net in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. The Revolution put themselves back in contention for a victory in the 59th minute on a brilliant shot by Turgeman after he took the ball just past midfield from Carles Gil. As Turgeman worked the ball near Miami's box, he fired a line drive past Inter Miami goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo to cut the deficit to 2-1. Rios Novo got the start in favor of Inter Miami's regular starting keeper Oscar Ustari, who allowed a season-high five goals last Tuesday in a 5-3 loss to the Chicago Fire. Inter Miami answered almost immediately. Within less than a minute, a rush up the field ended with Allende streaking toward the goal and finishing off another assist from Messi. Three minutes later, Alba tacked on another score off a great pass from Telasco Segovia. (Production: David Grip)

TWO STILLS OF SANCHEZ PLAYING AGAINST THE NEW YORK GIANTS ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (FILE – DECEMBER 30, 2012) (REUTERS – Access all) 3. TWO STILLS OF SANCHEZ PLAYING AGAINST THE BUFFALO BILLS STORY: Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was charged with battery after a fight in downtown Indianapolis that left him hospitalised with stab wounds on Saturday (October 4) shortly after midnight, police and the TV network said. Indianapolis police charged Sanchez, 38, with battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication, all misdemeanours. Sanchez is still in the hospital and was not booked in the county jail, police said in a statement, adding that final decisions on charges will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office did not immediately return a request for comment. An earlier statement from Indianapolis police said two men were in a “physical disturbance” in downtown Indianapolis around 12:30 a.m., with one receiving stab wounds and the other cuts. A statement from Fox Sports said Sanchez was in stable condition in the hospital. Police said the fight was “an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence.” The other man’s name was not released. Indianapolis police do not identify victims or suspects “unless the suspect is arrested, charged or being sought,” the statement said. The second man told police he was making a food delivery when Sanchez took issue with where he was parked and became aggressive, according to a report on the Fox59 local TV station. The driver said he tried unsuccessfully to defend himself with pepper spray before stabbing Sanchez, Fox59 reported. The account could not be confirmed by Reuters. Sanchez played 10 seasons in the NFL, starting with the New York Jets for five years before short stints with several other franchises. He has not played in the National Football League since 2018. He was slated to cover the Sunday game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Fox Sports. “We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support,” the network said in a statement posted on X. “Sending our thoughts and love to Mark Sanchez and his family. Hoping for a speedy recovery, 6,” said the Jets, referencing his jersey number. (Production: Mussab Al-Khairalla, Adam Hunger, Gary Hershorn, Doug Benz, Conal Quinn)
