(Reuters) -Pop superstar Taylor Swift said on Monday she will release a concert film and a six-part documentary series chronicling the final leg of her extremely successful Eras Tour on Disney+ on December 12, expanding her partnership with the streaming service. Disney+, which streamed an earlier cut of the Eras Tour film earlier this year, is deepening its collaboration with Swift, leaning into exclusive live music and the pop superstar's large, devoted global fan base to attract new subscribers in a competitive market. In a post on X, Swift said "The Eras Tour | The Final Show" will stream the full performance from her last tour stop in Vancouver, including the first complete live set of her album "Tortured Poets Department." Disney+ will also debut the first two episodes of a six-part docuseries titled "The End of an Era," offering a behind-the-scenes view of what Swift called "the most important and intense chapter" of her career. The Eras Tour, which began in March 2023 and spans Swift's two-decade catalog, has become the highest-grossing tour in history after generating more than $2 billion in ticket sales. The previous film version, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," which premiered in cinemas last year, is the highest-grossing concert movie ever. Swift has won 14 Grammys, including a record four Album of the Year awards, and her latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl," became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day after its October release. By Patricia Reaney (Reuters) -Diane Keaton, the quirky U.S. actress who won an Academy Award and captured hearts with her performance as Woody Allen's eccentric, insecure girlfriend in the 1977 romantic comedy "Annie Hall," has died at the age of 79. Rizzoli, a publishing company that released several of Keaton's books, confirmed her death in a statement, calling her an "icon whose influence spanned film, fashion, and design." A representative for Keaton could not be immediately reached. Her death was first reported by People magazine. Keaton, who appeared in more than 60 films, including "The Godfather" trilogy, "The First Wives Club" and eight films with Allen, stood out in Hollywood with a personal style that favored androgynous looks, turtleneck sweaters and her trademark hats. 'ANNIE HALL' ESTABLISHED KEATON She earned Oscar nominations for best actress for her portrayal of U.S. journalist Louise Bryant in the 1981 political drama "Reds," as a caring aunt to Leonardo DiCaprio in the 1996 family saga "Marvin's Room" and opposite Jack Nicholson in the 2003 romantic comedy "Something's Gotta Give." But it was "Annie Hall," which Allen loosely based on his relationship with Keaton, that established her as a consummate actress. "It was an idealized version of me, let's put it that way," Keaton said about the film in an interview with CBS News in 2004. "Annie Hall" and Keaton's dramatic turn as a dedicated teacher by day and prowler of singles bars at night in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" landed her on the cover of "Time" magazine in September 1977. Rolling Stone magazine described her as "the next (Katherine) Hepburn" in its June 30th issue that year. Forty years later, Allen paid tribute to his early muse when Keaton received the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award for her body of work. "The minute I met her she was a great, great inspiration to me," he said. "Much of what I've accomplished in my life I owe for sure to her. She's really astonishing." Keaton was also a director, writer, producer, and photographer and had a passion for restoring California mansions. She detailed her life in two memoirs, "Then Again" in 2011, in which she revealed she had suffered from the eating disorder bulimia in her 20s, and "Let's Just Say it Wasn't Pretty" in 2014. She was equally famous for high-profile romances with her leading men: Allen; Warren Beatty, her co-star and director in "Reds"; and Al Pacino, who played her boyfriend and husband in "The Godfather" films. "Each man had a different decade," she told The Telegraph in 2013. "Woody was my twenties, Warren was my thirties and Al was borderline: late thirties/early forties."      'LA-DEE-DA, LA-DEE-DA, LA-LA' Keaton was born Diane Hall in Los Angeles on January 5, 1946. The oldest of four children, she adopted her mother's maiden name to avoid confusion with another actress with the same moniker. Her father, a civil engineer, and her housekeeper mother moved the family to suburban Santa Ana when Keaton was a child. After briefly attending college in California, Keaton moved to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse. She landed a role in the original Broadway rock musical "Hair" in 1968. The shy actress, who spent years in therapy, refused to appear nude in the production. But it was an audition with Allen for the stage production of "Play It Again, Sam" that changed her life. "Nothing would have happened without Woody Allen. If I hadn't been cast in that play …" Keaton said in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2011. Keaton won a Tony nomination for the role that sparked their romance as well as a life-long friendship and a collaboration that included many of Allen's best films such as "Sleeper," "Love and Death" and "Manhattan." In "Annie Hall," she immortalized the phrase "la-dee-da, la-dee-da, la-la," which was characteristic of her flighty, fluttered style. Keaton stood by Allen years later after the filmmaker's adopted daughter accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was a child. Allen has denied the allegations and has never been charged. "I still love him – there are some people who stay in your life and it matters and they are in for the long haul," she said about Allen in an interview with The Telegraph in 2013. After seeing her in "Lovers and Other Strangers" and intrigued by her kooky, nervous demeanor, Francis Ford Coppola cast Keaton as Kay Adams, Pacino's love interest in "The Godfather." It was a major role for the actress in the film that won the Oscar for best picture in 1973. As Keaton's career progressed, she moved from ingenue roles to mature career women and mothers grappling with family issues. She credits director Nancy Myers for her long-lasting career. They worked on four films together, including 1987's "Baby Boom," and the 1991 remake of the 1950s film "Father of the Bride." Keaton was also nominated for a lead actress Emmy in 1995 for "Amelia Earhart: The Final Flight" and directed several films, television episodes and two music videos for singer Belinda Carlisle. Despite her well-publicized romances, she never married. "I think I was really afraid of men and also very attracted to extremely talented people that were dazzling," she told Elle magazine in 2015. "I don't think that makes for a good marriage with a person like me, someone who just didn't adjust well." After adopting two children, Dexter and Duke, when she was in her 50s, Keaton said she found a real purpose in her life that she never had before. "I was very heavily involved in myself forever. And this changes the whole landscape of your life. Your whole point of view in a good way," she told CBS News. "In a nice way … I just think they are both miracles." By Hanna Rantala LONDON (Reuters) -Actors Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal went on a transformative journey in "Hamnet", a film that has received rave reviews and early award season buzz. Directed by Academy Award-winning "Nomadland" filmmaker Chloe Zhao, the drama offers a fictional account of the relationship of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes and the death of their 11-year-old son Hamnet in 1596. Set in Stratford-upon-Avon and London, it sees the young Shakespeare teaching Latin to pay off his father's debts and falling in love with the free-spirited Agnes, described by locals as the daughter of a forest witch.  With a focus on their family life, the emotion-filled film follows the highs and lows of their love story as well as the grief over the loss of their son, which leads Shakespeare to write "Hamlet". "What was revealed to me through her (Agnes) was a tenderness that I didn't know I needed to learn and live in. And that tenderness has changed me," Buckley said on Saturday at the movie's London Film Festival premiere. "It really reminded me of how potent and powerful storytelling can be. And it's kind of set a bar, like, I only want to make films that are as brave and as human as this from now on," the Irish actress said. "Normal People", "Aftersun" and "Gladiator II" star Mescal said the movie gave him an opportunity to portray a maturing man. Its depiction of love that transforms through time was "very moving", he said. "It's the first time that I've spanned the real length of time with him, early twenties all the way through to even a little bit in later life. It was lovely," the Irish actor said. The film is adapted from Maggie O'Farrell's bestselling 2020 novel of the same name, with the author and Zhao co-writing the screenplay. It acknowledges that the names Hamlet and Hamnet were interchangeable in Shakespeare's day. The project was an emotional one for Zhao, who was overwhelmed as she arrived at the premiere. "If you see your DP (director of photography), your production designer, your costume designer and just start balling on the red carpet for like 20 minutes, I can't keep it together, I think it speaks for itself," she said. "Hamnet", which is produced by Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes, will be released in cinemas globally in late 2025 and early 2026. (Reporting by Hanna Rantala; Editing by Paul Simao)

(Fixes grammatical error in paragraph 6) By Hanna Rantala LONDON (Reuters) -Two-time Oscar winner George Clooney drew from his own life to play a Hollywood legend in his new movie "Jay Kelly."     The comedy-drama stars Clooney as ageing global superstar Jay Kelly and combines humour with contemplation on the cost of celebrity and fame.     "There are elements certainly about the experience that I've had, but not so many regrets, which I think is 'thank God'," Clooney, 64, said while attending the movie's London Film Festival premiere on Friday. "It's personal, but I'm not as unhappy as that guy. I have a family that I love and kids who I think still love me. They're eight, there's time to screw it up. And I have friends that I don't pay."     Directed by Noah Baumbach, who co-wrote the screenplay with actress Emily Mortimer, "Jay Kelly" sees the titular character reflect on his past and present as he travels to Europe with his large entourage.      The group, including his publicist Liz, played by Laura Dern, and hair and makeup artist Candy (Mortimer), slowly disintegrates along the journey. But Kelly's loyal manager Ron, portrayed by Adam Sandler, stays by his side and takes stock of his own life.     "You see somebody who, when they make a movie, it takes a lot of time away from your family. I've always tried to bring family around as much as possible," said Sandler. "And like anyone who works for a living, you're away from some stuff you wish you weren't missing. It's dealing with that pain and finding out the best balance."     Baumbach, whose previous films include "Marriage Story" and "White Noise" and who co-wrote the hit movie "Barbie" with his wife Greta Gerwig, said he set out to make a movie about an actor in crisis.     "I think it was a way to tell a story about all of us in some way," said Baumbach. "An actor was a kind of stand-in for all of us who are trying to figure out the gap between how we present ourselves to the world and who we may actually be, and as we get older, also how we contend with that."     "Jay Kelly", which features a starry supporting cast including Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Louis Partridge, Isla Fisher, Jim Broadbent and Gerwig, receives a limited theatrical release in November and starts streaming on Netflix on December 5.  (Reporting by Hanna Rantala; Editing by Aurora Ellis)

LONDON (Reuters) -Taylor Swift set records and topped the UK music charts on Friday, with her new album "The Life of a Showgirl" powering straight to No.1 and three of its tracks also taking the top spots. The U.S. singer-songwriter released her 12th studio album last week and in less than 11 hours, it became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day in 2025. Despite mixed reviews, Swift's latest offering has been lapped up by her huge global fan base. In Britain, it became her 14th No.1 album, "securing the biggest opening week of the year in just three days…. (and ending) the week on a staggering 423,000 combined chart units", the Official Charts Company said. Its first week of release was the biggest in Britain since Ed Sheeran’s "Divide" in 2017 and the biggest opening week for an international album in Britain this century, it added. "The Life of a Showgirl" set records for different formats, including the most first-week album downloads in 2025 and the most UK album streams in a week, with streaming contributing 84,000 stream-equivalent sales. For vinyl, it became the UK’s fastest-selling album this century with 126,000 sales, and the biggest one-week vinyl sale since modern chart records began in 1994. The album's opening track "The Fate of Ophelia" topped the UK singles chart, followed by songs "Opalite" and "Elizabeth Taylor" at No.2 and No.3 respectively. "Her list of achievements this week is extraordinary, not least the fact that 'The Life of a Showgirl' has just registered comfortably the biggest first week in the UK of her career," Martin Talbot, Chief Executive of the Official Charts, said in a statement. In Australia, Swift set another record, with the album's 12 songs taking the top 12 positions on the ARIA singles chart. She also topped the ARIA albums chart. Swift is expected to break more records and top charts elsewhere, including in the United States. (Reporting by Marie-Louise GumuchianEditing by Frances Kerry)
