By Lisa Richwine (Reuters) -Country singer Dolly Parton sought to reassure fans about her health on Wednesday after comments by her sister stoked concern that the Grammy winner was near death. "I ain't dead yet," Parton, 79, said in the caption to an Instagram video. "Do I look sick to you? I'm working hard here," the "9 to 5" singer said with a smile from a set where she was filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry. She wore black pants and a red top with black fringe. Parton had recently announced she was postponing a series of shows planned for Las Vegas to deal with some unspecified health issues. This week, her sister, Freida Parton, said on social media that she had been "up all night praying" for the singer. She later said she "didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious." In Wednesday's video, Parton said she had neglected her own health during the illness and death of her husband, Carl Dean, who died in March. She was now working with doctors to address some issues, she said.  "I want you to know I'm OK. I've got some problems … nothing major," she said, adding, "I'm not dying." Parton is a Grammy-winning singer and star of movies including "Steel Magnolias" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." She is due to receive an honorary Oscar in November. By Marie-Louise Gumuchian LONDON (Reuters) -Daniel Craig's third outing as the charismatic detective Benoit Blanc in "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" opened the London Film Festival on Wednesday, kicking off 12 days of red carpets, screenings and talks with the likes of Oscar winners Daniel Day-Lewis and Chloe Zhao. Craig led co-stars including Glenn Close, Josh Brolin and Mila Kunis on the red carpet for the latest "Knives Out" whodunit, which has a more gothic and darker tone than 2019's "Knives Out" and "Glass Onion" released in 2022. "They're all different from each other, which is what I think we set out to do … we wanted them all to be standalone so that each one had a different flavour," Craig told Reuters of the three films. Asked what it was like to take on the role once again, he added: “I wouldn't do it unless I had fun doing it." In the murder mystery, which also stars Josh O'Connor, Jeremy Renner, Daryl McCormack and Cailee Spaeny, Brolin's small-town priest Monsignor Wicks is killed, with suspicion turning to one of his parishioners. Writer-director Rian Johnson, also behind the earlier "Knives Out" movies, said he and Craig started talking about ideas for "Wake Up Dead Man" right after screening "Glass Onion" at the London Film Festival. “The idea of doing something a little more grounded seemed like it could be a good challenge … hopefully it's still funny, hopefully it's still entertaining and a really fun ride for audiences," he said. Some 247 titles will feature during the 69th edition of the BFI London Film Festival, with famous names including George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Paul Mescal expected in town to promote their respective movies "Jay Kelly," "After the Hunt" and "Hamnet." Also on the line-up are Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein," Emma Stone's latest collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos, "Bugonia", as well as "Anemone" for which Day-Lewis came out of retirement for his son's feature-film directorial debut. Lanthimos and Day-Lewis will also take part in talks about their work alongside Zhao, who will discuss her "Hamnet" adaptation. Forty-two percent of the works on the schedule were made by female or nonbinary filmmakers, organisers say. "We really want the programme to reflect the city that we're in so we're really looking for an enormous geographic diversity and we're also just looking for the programme to represent the world around us," London Film Festival Director Kristy Matheson said. The London Film Festival runs until October 19. (Reporting by Marie-Louise Gumuchian in London; Editing by Matthew Lewis)

LONDON (Reuters) -Britain's King Charles has said he was considered "rather dotty" for voicing concern about damage to the environment in the past. An upcoming documentary film aims to chart the spread of views once seen as eccentric, and bring them to new audiences. The 76-year-old monarch first spoke of the dangers of "indestructible plastic containers" and the pollution from "endless cars and aeroplanes" in the early 1970s, well before protecting the planet became a mainstream topic. "Remarkably few people around the world know the full depth of The King’s lifelong battle to bring nature and humanity into harmony," the film's director Nicolas Brown said in a statement. "Finding Harmony: A King's Vision" will explore the history of Charles' belief that nature is at the core of human wellbeing and emphasise the urgent need to protect it. The film is due to be released early next year, a counterweight to scepticism about environmental issues voiced by U.S. President Donald Trump. The film will feature Charles' projects at his Highgrove residence and Dumfries House – part of his charity, The King's Foundation – and further afield in India and Guyana. "Nature is our sustainer – we are a part of Nature. Therefore, what we do to her, we do to ourselves," Charles said in the statement from the charity. His environmental campaigning has already inspired both his sons. Heir to the throne Prince William set up the Earthshot charity, which offers multi-million pound prizes to help fund environmental technologies, while his younger son Prince Harry champions conservation and wildlife causes. The film will be available on Amazon's Prime Video, marking the latest move by the royal family to embrace global media platforms. Earlier in October, William appeared on an Apple TV show, while Harry, who is no longer a working royal, has a contract with Netflix. (Reporting by Sarah Young; editing by Philippa Fletcher)

(Reuters) -Disney said on Wednesday it will raise prices for certain tickets to its theme parks in the U.S. during key holidays such as the Thanksgiving week and New Year's Eve. Prices for one-day tickets to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, will exceed the current $199 top price point, beginning with the holidays in 2026, the company said in a statement to Reuters. The starting and high-end price for tickets on sale through to October next year will remain unchanged.  Out of the seven ticket tiers at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, five will see price hikes of 3% or less, the lowest increase in several years. The lowest-priced ticket will remain unchanged at $104. Currently, the cost of entry to Disneyland for the week of Thanksgiving — from November 24 to November 29 — as well as for the Christmas and New Year's week is $224, according to its website. "Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do — and that will never change," Disney officials said in the statement. By Arpan Chaturvedi and Aditya Kalra NEW DELHI (Reuters) -Hollywood and Bollywood groups are lobbying an Indian panel for stricter copyright protection that will prevent artificial intelligence firms from using their intellectual property to train AI models, letters show. AI companies remain at loggerheads with content owners globally and governments are fast developing regulations that lay down rules for the new technology. While Japan gives broad exemptions to AI firms in using copyrighted content, the European Union has stricter rules that allow content owners to opt-out of such use. The movie industry is particularly concerned that AI tools could scrape their copyrighted videos, images and clips online – like trailers and promos – and more critically ingest pirated content onto their platforms. India's current copyright law does not account for use by AI. The government formed a panel this year consisting of lawyers, government officials and industry executives to review if existing copyright law is sufficient to tackle AI-related disputes, and make recommendations. WORRIED FILM STUDIOS LOBBYING HARD Motion Picture Association (MPA), which represents Warner Bros, Paramount and Netflix, and the Producers Guild of India have argued India should not tinker with its copyright law and instead promote a licencing regime.  In response to the panel's private inquiry on why India should not allow blanket training exceptions to bolster AI innovation, MPA India Managing Director Uday Singh said in an August 2 letter the move could "undermine the incentive to create new works and erode copyright protection in India." The Indian guild's CEO Nitin Tej Ahuja told the panel in his letter "licensing copyrighted works is essential for creators' revenue and business sustainability." MPA declined to comment, while the guild did not respond to Reuters queries on the letters, which are not public.  India's commerce ministry official Himani Pande, who chairs the panel, did not respond to Reuters queries. The panel is finalising its recommendations which it will present to senior officials in coming weeks, a source with direct knowledge said. INDIA'S VIBRANT MOVIE MARKET     India has one of the world's most vibrant film industries. A Deloitte-MPA study in May said India's film, TV and online content industry generated $13.1 billion in revenues last year, growing 18% each year since 2019.      The deliberations come just when a Bollywood couple has gone to court to challenge YouTube's AI policies after their manipulated videos started spreading online.  The film studios' position is in contrast to the Business Software Alliance, which represents AI firms like OpenAI, and which argued in  public submissions in July that New Delhi should ensure exceptions to permit lawful AI use. MPA members however remain concerned. The association has said India should not consider allowing use of content in AI models with an opt-out system as it will put the burden of responsibility on the movie studios, a move that could force them to individually track and block sharing of their work on scores of AI platforms. Such exceptions "would hinder future investments, development of high-quality local content," MPA India said. In September, Warner sued AI service Midjourney in Los Angeles by saying it brazenly stole the studio's works to generate images and videos of Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny and other copyrighted characters. Midjourney maintains the way it trains its AI model amounts to fair use. (Reporting by Arpan Chaturvedi and Aditya Kalra; Editing by Raju Gopalakrishnan)

MUMBAI (Reuters) -Three new Bollywood films will be made in Britain from next year, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced during a trip to India on Wednesday. Yash Raj, India's leading film production and distribution company, will bring major productions to Britain from early 2026 after an eight-year break from filming in the country, the government said, expecting 3,000 jobs to be created as a result. "Bollywood is back in Britain, and it's bringing jobs, investment and opportunity, all while showcasing the UK as a world-class destination for global filmmaking," Starmer said in a statement. "This is exactly the kind of partnership our trade deal with India is destined to unlock." (Reporting by Alistair Smout in Mumbai and Sarah Young in London, writing by Yoruk Bahceli)
